An article that appeared on Page 4 of the Friday, May 23, edition of the Lincoln Times-News, stated incorrectly the last high school varsity softball team to reach the final four of the state playoffs. North Lincoln, as a 1A school in 2004 and 2005, played in the double-elimination final four tournament at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex in Raleigh. The Knights finished third each year.

Sports physicals
Family Medicine Associates will offer athletic physicals at 3 p.m. on June 4 at West Lincoln High. Cost is $20 with checks payable to the school. Athletes must have NCHSAA-approved form with pre-participation section completed and signed by both the athlete and his or her parents or guardians. Forms and payment must be turned in to Athletic Director Wayne Navey by Friday.

Track clinic
The North Lincoln High track club will host a seven-day youth track and field clinic at the school from 6-7 p.m. on June 16, 18, 20, 23, 27, 30 and July 2 for boys and girls ages 5-12. There will be two meets held, the first on June 25 and the last on July 3, both at 6 p.m. The cost of the camp for each child is $10. Summer programs
The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation is currently taking registration for the following summer programs: wrestling, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, baseball and swim team camps, tennis clinics and swimming lessons. Registration is being accepted 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Lentz Recreation Center. For more information contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.
