City, county to hold budget work sessions

Government budget season is in full force this week, with both city and county officials holding budget workshops.

Lincolnton’s City Council will hold its second budget workshop today at 6 p.m. at City Hall. According to City Clerk Donna Flowers, the purpose of the meeting is to continue discussion on the proposed 2014-2015 budget along with other items pertaining to the city’s budget.

County commissioners will hold their first budget workshop at noon on Friday in the Citizens Center. Commissioners received the 2014-2015 proposed budget at their meeting earlier this week.

Both meetings are open to the public. Those interested in more information regarding the city’s proposed budget should contact the city clerk’s office at (704) 736-8980. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
