Vale woman charged with theft of saddles from church

Staff report

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office charged a Vale woman on Saturday with stealing saddles from Cross Creek Cowboy Church in January.

Sylvia Juanita Minteer, 43, of 3627 Bridle Path Drive in Vale was charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods in the case.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report about the theft on Jan. 12, when it was discovered that one of the church’s barn doors was partially open. The lock on a storage room in the barn had been cut and five saddles, among other items, had been taken.

Minteer was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond and had a first appearance in court today.

The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the thefts is ongoing.
