Aaron James ‘Big A’ Mosteller

Aaron James “Big A” Mosteller, age 93, of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the Brian Center.

His funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Born August 9, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late James Pressley and Willie Rhyne Mosteller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Marion Mosteller and Max Mosteller; sister, Dorothy Stamey; great-grandson, Kevin; and great-great-granddaughter, Ava. He served his country in the Army during WWII and was retired from Durham Life Insurance.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Armstrong Mosteller; daughter, Kay M. Iddings of Conover; two sons, Larry Mosteller (Sharon), Frankie Mosteller (Sharon), both of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Teresa, Dean, Jamie, Monte, Melissa, and Chad; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1982 Salem Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Jeffery Craig Hinson

Mr. Jeffery Craig Hinson, age 54, of 145 Shell Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

His funeral service will be 2 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the McKendree United Methodist Church cemetery. The family received friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Jeffery was born March 11, 1960, in Catawba County, to the late Ray and Dolly Slaughter Hinson. He worked as a sander.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Hinson of the home; three sons, Jamie Hinson, Jonathan Hinson and wife Alisha, and Jesse Hinson, all of Lincolnton; daughter, Jennifer Shull and husband Robert of Lincolnton; brother, Billy Hinson and wife Peggy of Granite Falls; three sisters, Debra Hinson of Hickory, Roberta Sigmon and husband Melvin, and Delores Garrison, all of Conover; and a granddaughter, Laney Hinson.

Mary Craig Caskey Peeler

DENVER — Mary Craig Caskey Peeler, age 91, of Lakewood Care Center, Denver passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Caskey officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Peeler was born in Gaston County on June 10, 1922, daughter of the late Charles Clay and Ida Jackson McAllister Caskey. She worked for Sonoco Products before retiring. Mrs. Peeler also served our country as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hall Betha Peeler; two daughters, Beth and Peggy; five brothers, Clay, Sam, Graham, Dickie, and Johnny Caskey; and two sisters, Charles Alexander and Martha Jean Bennis.

Mrs. Peeler is survived by her daughter, Rosanne Peeler Neely and husband Mark, and granddaughter Jacquelyn of Greensboro; two brothers, David Caskey and Andy Caskey; two sisters, Peggy Bartholomew and Pat Bradshaw, all of Iron Station.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

The family would sincerely like to thank the staff of Lakewood Care Center for their wonderful love and care given to Mrs. Peeler during the years she lived there.

Clyde J. Spencer Jr., 76, of Kings Mountain died Monday, May 5, 2014.

Visitation will be today from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Margaret Hatchett Sigmon Lineberger

Margaret Hatchett Sigmon Lineberger, 98, of Maiden died May 8, 2014.

Funeral services will be held May 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. First United Methodist Church in Maiden. Burial will follow in the Maiden City Cemetery. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Diane Gail Engel Williamson, 67, of Claremont died May 6, 2014.
