Matthew Williams and Jeffrey Hill, assistant supervisors with Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s EMS Management Institute on Feb. 28. They were among more than 20 EMS administrators and supervisors across the Southeast who graduated from the program. The Institute was founded in 1980 and is a five-month, “cohort” certificate program for EMS supervisors, mid-level managers, training officers and senior paramedics who wish to take on leadership roles in their field, according to a school press release. The specific curriculum focuses on leadership & team-building, personnel management & supervision, operations management & strategic planning, and communication skills & public relations. Since its inception, the school has graduated over 1,000 EMS, the release said. Each graduate receives a certificate in EMS Management from UNC-Charlotte.
