Ruth Hazelene Lynn Johnson

Ruth Hazelene Lynn Johnson, age 88, of 3753 Asbury Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, April 25, 2014.

Her funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at David Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Reese and Rev. Jack Calloway officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Johnson was born April 14, 1926, in Gaston County, to the late Roy and Bertie Carpenter Lynn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Lynn. She worked as an inspector in the furniture industry.

She is survived by her husband, Reynard B. Johnson of the home; son, Steven Johnson of Lincolnton; sister, Betty Helms and husband Rathmul of Lincolnton; two nephews, Jeff Helms and wife Sandra and Mike Helms and wife Libby. She loved her many grand nieces and nephews as well.

Frances Irene Arndt Wooten

Mrs. Frances Irene Arndt Wooten, age 83, of 2482 Kings Grant Road in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the church fellowship hall.  A private graveside service will take place prior to the services on Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory.

Mrs. Wooten was born April 24, 1931, in Catawba County, to the late Luther Allen and Margaret Kathleen Throneburg Arndt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Rhem Wooten. She worked for the North Carolina Employment Security Commission and as a residential real estate agent.

She is survived by one son, Rhem Wooten and wife Kathy Farley of Harwood, Md.; one daughter, Robin Wood and husband Aaron of Lincolnton; one brother, Allen Arndt of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Georgia Wood and Samantha Wooten and two step-grandchildren, Daniel Farley and Melissa Farley.

Sarah D. Helton

Sarah Rebecca Davenport Helton, 88, of Hickory died April 25, 2014.

A funeral service was held on April 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton. Burial followed in Conover City Cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton prior to the service.

Burke Mortuary, Newton is serving the Helton family.

 

Thomas Roosevelt Woodall

Thomas Roosevelt Woodall, 80, of Lincolnton died April 24, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Boger City United Methodist Church.

Dennis Scott Faulkenbury

Dennis Scott Faulkenbury, 52, of Cherryville died April 24, 2014.

Visitation will be from 2:45 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. today at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
