Board of Commissioners candidate Mike Davis dies

A Lincoln County political candidate has died.

Michael Davis, of 1554 Pleasant Grove Church Road in Crouse, passed away on Sunday, April 6.  Davis was one of five Republican candidates currently running for a seat with the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.

A native of Lincoln County, Davis was born Oct. 11, 1952, to the late Sammie S. Davis and Sue Tutherow Davis. He was the co-owner of Davis Brothers Automotive and Fairview Farms.

Davis is survived by his brothers, Randy Davis and his wife Teresa of Crouse and Sammy Davis and his wife Lisa of Lincolnton; his sister, Teressa Meeks and husband Chris of Lincolnton; and nieces and nephews, Randall Davis and wife Sherrie, Kendall Davis and wife Christina, Sadie Wilkinson and husband Michael, Adair Davis, Reagan Davis, Shelby Davis, and Lathan, Camden and Korbyn Sain.

A funeral service for Davis will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Reverend Jim Sanders and Rev. Tim Spencer will be officiating. The burial will follow in the church ceremony. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
