Edith Mae Ramseur Greene
Edith Mae Ramseur Greene, age 90, of Charlotte, formerly of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at CMC University in Charlotte. She was born January 1, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Hugh M. Ramseur Sr. and Bessie Cansler Ramseur.
She was a lifelong member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church and served as Pianist, Clerk of Session and an Elder.
She graduated from Oaklawn High School. In 1944, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Winston-Salem State University. A dedicated educator, she began her professional career in the Lincoln County Schools where she taught for 39½ years. She retired in 1982.
She is survived by her daughter, Tezella G. Cline and her husband Reverend Terry Cline of Charlotte and two grandchildren, Tyler and Timothy Cline, both of Charlotte.
Services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. at E. F. Drum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow at Pine Street Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. Terry Cline will officiate.

Harvey Darrell ‘Doc’ Ledbetter
Mr. Harvey Darrell “Doc” Ledbetter, age 62, of 1114 North Hill Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Painter officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Ledbetter was born March 28, 1951, in Lincoln County. He was a retired teacher for Lincoln County Schools, a volunteer fireman for 40 years, 15 years with the N.C. Forestry Service, and 15 years with the Lincoln County Life Saving Crew.
He is survived by his beloved Audrey of the home; his parents, Sarah and Harvey Ledbetter of Lincolnton; one son, Drew Ledbetter of Lincolnton; two daughters, Cassie Hendrick and husband Daniel of Cherryville and Christy Chaney and husband Buddy of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren, Morgan Hendrick, Skyler Chaney, and Blaine Chaney.

Kathryn Genieve Marie Shoemaker Carr
Kathryn Genieve Marie Shoemaker Carr, age 82, of Carillon Assisted Living, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carr was born March 24, 1932, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Marvin and Kathleen McCown Dean. She was a homemaker and loved shopping, watching QVC, fishing, and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Carr Jr. of the home; three sons, Ralph Hinton of Florida, Doug Hinton of Newton, and Michael Carr of Ohio; daughter, Cathy Jo Richter of Vale; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy Jean Howard Reep
Peggy Jean Howard Reep, 81, of Denver passed away Tuesday March 25, 2014 at her residence.
She was born October 30, 1932 in Catawba County to the late R.Q. and Lottie Moore Howard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Reep and daughter, Sherry Reep Tucker.
Survivors include: sons, Joey Reep and wife Joy of Maiden, Tony Reep and wife Renee of Lincolnton, Marty Reep of Charlotte; brothers, Troy Howard and wife Becky of Denver, Bud Howard and wife Cathy of Denver; sister, Brenda Caldwell and husband Bobby of Maiden; grandchildren, Danny Reep, Misty Jones, Derick Reep and McKensie Reep; great-grandchildren, Jessica Reep, Brandi Reep, Joey Berman, Brittney Berman, Ansley Jones, McKinley Jones and Jaxxen Jones.
A graveside service was held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Westport Baptist Church in Denver. The Rev. Guy Helms officiated. The family received friends following the graveside service. Serving as pallbearers were, Danny Reep, Joey Berman, Derick Reep, Ryan Jones, Todd Howard and Tim Howard.
