Mr. Billy Bryson, age 58, of 3834 Stoney Creek Drive in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Bryson was born on September 22, 1955 in the town of Pickens, S.C. and is the son of Sylvan Edward Bryson of Caser and to the late Carolyn Bowen Bryson. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Hart.
Mr. Bryson drove a truck for 30 years and worked at RoadOne Intermodal. He enjoyed watching the sport of motocross and most anything that had to do with cars and motors. He loved being outdoors and helping others. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Bryson is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Pope Bryson of the home; one daughter, Carol Powell and husband, Ricky of Mableton, Ga.; three sons, Mike Bryson and wife, Susan of Maiden, Gary Bryson and fiancée Jesse Propst of Lincolnton and Trent Bryson and wife, Sadye of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren, Ricky and Daniel Powell, Emily and Shelby Bryson, Alyson and Danielle Roberts and Brianna Bryson; four brothers, Edward, Wallace, Terry and Paul and two sisters, Linda and Wanda.

Pamela Ward Driver
Pamela Ward Driver, 55, of Morristown, Tenn. went home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 1, 2014 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Morristown, Tenn. Pam graduated from Lincolnton High School and received an Associate of Science Degree in Child Development Technology from Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn.
Pamela loved the mountains and enjoyed spending time in Gatlinburg, Tenn. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Eugene Driver of Morristown, Tenn.; parents, Millard and Hilda Ward of Lincolnton; brothers, Michael (June) Ward of Clayton and Timothy (Kim) Ward of Lincolnton; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Jonathan) Dengler, of Clayton, Emily (Jim) Ashcraft of Morrisville, Austin (Nia) Ward of Lexington, Stephen Ward of Lincolnton, Daniel (Lauren) Ward of Wake Forest, Jessica (Andrew) Evans of Raleigh and David Ward of Clemmons; and four great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Morristown, Tenn. with Dr. Dean Haun and the Rev. Danny Georges officiating.
Fred Riley Hamrick
Mr. Fred Riley Hamrick, age 77, of 3203 Laboratory Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Fred was born September 14, 1936, in Cleveland County to the late Oscar and Anna Watts Hamrick. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Triolo Hamrick. He worked in construction.
He is survived by two sons, Frederick “Freddie” Hamrick of Burke County and Leroy Nagy of Percy, Calif.; four daughters, Francine Hamrick Houser of Lincolnton, Julie Parillo of Vale, Cheryl Petree of Lincolnton, and Darlene McIntyre of Shelby; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Hamrick of Vale; two sisters, Mary Keil of Wellford, S.C and Betty Hager of Bessemer City; and caretakers, granddaughter Helen Hamrick and fiancé Josh Keziah of the home.

Virginia Potts Lockman
Virginia Potts Lockman, age 85, of Lincolnton died on Monday, March 24, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Setzer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Virginia was born April 5, 1928, in Lincoln County to the late Walter A. Potts and Eva Lee Potts. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Lockman; two sisters, Ellen Potts Mull and Sue Potts Ballard; and three brothers Reid, Lee, and Miles Potts. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, was a longtime choir member, and served as the church historian.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lockman Bean and husband Alan of Gastonia; brother, Elliott Potts of Lincolnton; granddaughter, Andrea Bean of Charlotte; grandson, Dr. Ethan Bean and wife Dr. Stacey Bean of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Meredith Bean.

Ben H. Sipe
Mr. Ben H. Sipe, 75, of Sipe Road, Taylorsville passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Sipe was born December 12 1938 in Alexander County to the late Maynard Frank Sipe and Eva Brookshire Sipe.
Mr. Sipe was a cabinet maker, poultry farmer and the owner-operator of Taylorsville Speedway. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Bonnie Montgomery; two brothers, Wade and Steve Sipe.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife, Jan S. Beal Sipe; a son, Darren Sipe and wife, Kristy, of Taylorsville; two grandsons, Brian Sipe of Taylorsville and Justin Killian of Hickory; a great-granddaughter, Briana Sipe; a sister, Mabel Porter of Charlotte; a sister-in-law, Betty Keever and husband, Bob, of Lincolnton; two brothers-in-law, James Stamey and wife, Tellease and C.A. Stamey and wife Kay both of Lincolnton; a special cousin, Ralph Keller of Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 4:30 p.m. today at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Revs. Andrew Miller and Steve Dagenhart will officiate. Burial will follow in church cemetery with full military honors, accorded by DAV Chapter 84 of Taylorsville and DAV Chapter 6 of Hudson. The family will receive friends 3 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. prior to the service.
