Lauren Goldsmith, O.D., received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and attended Southern College of Optometry for her doctorate of optometry. Goldsmith completed a post-doctorate residency at West Tennessee Eye in Memphis, Tenn., upon which she received advanced training in the management of ocular disease, post-operative care, ocular injections, contact lens care and pediatrics. Following residency, Goldsmith practiced in middle Tennessee, and was awarded Tennessee’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2012. Goldsmith returns to the east coast by joining Carolina Eye Care, with an emphasis on medical optometry, primary eye care and contact lens. Goldsmith is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She maintains professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians and the North Carolina Board of Optometry. Goldsmith has provided eye care on mission trips to North, Central, and South America.
