A southeastern Lincoln County woman is accused of taking more than $9,000 from her workplace since November, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrested Marcia Haggins Nealey, 41, on Saturday, charging her with one felony count of larceny by employee.
She admitted to officers that since Thanksgiving she had been taking money from deposits at the Dollar General store on N.C. 16 South where she worked, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Stolen money totaled more than $9,500, according to deputies.
Nealey, a resident of 215 Lin Mar Drive in Stanley, was placed under a $5,000 secured bond. She has since been released.
