Adrian Franklin Brewer age 85, of 780 Clarks Creek Road died Saturday, March 22, 2014.
His memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Leonard’s Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Brewer was born August 28, 1928 in Gaston County to the late James Ellis and Victoria Auton Brewer.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lafay Bost Brewer. He is survived by son, Adrian Brewer Jr. and wife Cherie of Troutman; daughters, Deborah Goins and husband Robert of Lincolnton, Melanie Givens and husband Shea of the home, Amie Coulter and husband Scott of Charlotte; brothers, Bill Brewer of Dallas, Jack Brewer of Shelby, Ben Brewer of Dallas; sisters, Mollie Spivey of Gastonia, Betty Woody of Dallas; 9 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren.

Harold Dean Heavner
VALE — Harold Dean Heavner, 83, entered eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
His funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Locke officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the worship service from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, J. Paul and Essie Leonard Heavner, his son, John Mark Heavner, and an infant daughter. Born in Lincoln county, Harold loved his family most but enjoyed his occupation as a truck driver and retired from Carolina Freight. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jonnie Sain Heavner of Vale, and son Steve Heavner and daughter-in-law Beverly of Vale. Harold is also survived by daughter-in-law Susan Heavner and two grandchildren, John and Sara Jane Heavner of Gastonia. They will miss his happy disposition and constant smile.
Harold is also survived by his twin brother, Carroll Heavner and wife Mary, and his twin sisters, Julia and Jane Heavner. They will certainly miss his presence at their Thursday morning breakfast gatherings. He is also survived by two nephews Jeffery P. Heavner and wife Crystal of Wilmington and Carroll Gene Heavner, Jr. of Rocky Mount; a niece, Nancy H. Price of Lincolnton; two great-nephews, Brandon Paul Heavner and Hayden Heavner, both of Boston, Mass.; and a great-niece, Caroline Powell of Lincolnton.

Ernestine Carroll Moses, age 74, of 3075 Lightview Lane in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at South River Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Chapman officiating. The family received friends on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moses was born in Cleveland County on June 8, 1939, to Sarah Carroll. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Moses. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 33 years of service.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Walters and wife Debbie, Billy Walters and wife Kathy, and Jim Moses and wife Dana, all of Lincolnton; three daughters, Cathy Travis and husband Skeet, Tina Jenkins and husband Danny Whitworth, all of Lincolnton, and Carolyn Camidge and husband Cliff of Morganton; two sisters, Lois Smith of Lincolnton, and Eileen Grigg and husband David of Lincolnton; twelve grandchildren, Rob Walters and wife Macrae, Travis Saunders and wife Nicole, Hayley Saunders, Jessica Jenkins and husband Jonathan, James Jenkins and wife Katie, Keely Moses, Conisha Moses, Cassandra Moses and husband Jose, Jamie Walters, John Sanders, III, Nikki and Lindsay Willard; and eight great-grandchildren, Hope, Meghan, Kaylan, Mason, Maddie, Kynadee, Jamison, and Caroline Ingle.

Mrs. Myrtle Walker Smith, age 92, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Devine and Rev. Doug McClain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born December 16, 1921 in East Baton Rouge, LA to the late Radcliffe Walker and Florence Smith Walker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen White. Mrs. Smith worked in retail sales.
She is survived by one son, Gary Ray Nickens, Sr of Lincolnton; one daughter, Doris Jane Edwards of Mississippi; grandchildren, Gary Ray Nickens, Jr., Charles David Nickens, Crystal Smith, Darlene Mericer, Travis Mericer, Darilyn Williams Daire, Renee Williams Elmore, and several great grandchildren.

A service of remembrance was held March 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Plateau United Methodist Church, Vale. The body was placed in the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Burial followed at St. Paul’s Memorial Park, Newton. The family received friends March 22, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Plateau United Methodist Church.
