Police: Serial toe sucker charged

Staff Writer

Police have charged a man they said sucked a stranger’s toes after luring the person to try on shoes inside the Lincolnton Wal-Mart on Monday.
Michael A. Brown, a registered sex offender from Concord, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female by the Lincolnton Police Department on Thursday. He was apprehended by the Concord Police Department and turned over to officers with Lincolnton Police.
The incident took place around 11:15 a.m. on Monday.
Brown told the female victim he was a podiatry student and persuaded her to try on more than one pair of shoes inside the store, according to a press release.
The victim told officers Brown put her foot in his mouth at one point and sucked on her toes.
When the victim protested, the suspect offered to pay for her groceries.
Brown was identified through surveillance photos.
Detective Dennis Harris said the man apparently tried the same thing at another Wal-Mart 15 miles away, where he told a woman he was conducting a survey on the feet of different races and nationalities.
The second woman also agreed to take off her shoes, but left when the suspect asked her to remove her socks.
Brown was convicted of attempted sex offense after breaking into a Concord woman’s home to suck her toes in 2001, according to area media reports.
Brown is being held under a $50,000 secured bond.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
