Seven girls were winners at this year’s Miss Valentine Queen Pageant, which took place Feb. 16 at Cherryville Community Building.  The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association sponsored the event. Winners included Bitsy Miss Addolynn Dominguez, Baby Doll Miss Berkeley Wilhoit, Tiny Miss Mary Grace Mullinix, Little Miss Jordan Abernathy, Young Miss Christine Underwood, Junior Miss Taylor Paputseanos, and Majestic Miss Erica Carpenter. Runners-up and princess winners were Ashtyn Pope, Braylee Green, Willow Blalock, Adrianna Hayes, Emma Roberts, Abigail Haskett and Brooke Silver. Signatures award winners included Ashtyn Pope, Berkeley Wilhoit, Adrianna Hayes, Willow Blalock, Abigail Haskett, Jordan Abernathy, Christine Underwood, Taylor Paputseanos and Erica Carpenter. Lastly, the overall signatures award winners were Braylee Green and Mary Grace Mullinix. Christine Underwood received the first application award; Erica Carpenter won the overall photogenic award.
Proceeds from the pageant benefit the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Fund.
