FRIDAY
Fish fry
East Lincoln Relay for Life will host a fish fry 5-8 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver. For more information, call Terry Garcia at (609) 933-9374.

Art Crawl
The Downtown Development Assocation of Lincolnton, Inc. (DDA), will host its annual Art Crawl event 5:30-9 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton with art, food and music. The even is a collaborative effort among the DDA, the Arts Council of Lincoln County, the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Cultural Center and the Lincoln County Historical Association.

Widowed Group
Widowed Group of the Greater Gaston Area will meet 6 p.m. at the Gaston County Resource Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas, for a covered dish dinner and entertainment by MARTY.

Singles group

YMCA Health Fair
The Hickory Foundation YMCA, 701 1st St. NW in Hickory, will host the YMCA 2014 Fitness and Health Fair starting 6:30 a.m. For more information, call (828) 624-1329 or visit ymcacv.org.

Food giveaway
Daniels Lutheran Church will host a Bread of Life Food Giveaway 9-11 a.m. at 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton. Recipients must be residents of Lincoln County and complete a short form for a 50 lb. food box. If a family currently qualifies for food stamps or Lincoln County Christian Ministry assistance, the family automatically qualifies for a food box. Recipients may begin lining up in the church parking lot at 7 a.m.

Rose pruning
The Cleveland-Lincoln Rose Society will host a rose pruning demonstration and spring rose bed preparation 10 a.m. in the Tracy Jenkins Memorial Rose Garden at the Charles R. Jonas Library, 306 W. Main St. in Lincolnton. For more information, call (828) 428-3508.

Chicken pie fundraiser
Meadow Ridge Church, 1173 Zeb Haynes Rd. in Maiden, will host a chicken pie fundraiser 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund. For more information, call (828) 428-1463.

Fish Fry
Crouse UMC, Old N.C. 150 in Crouse, will host a fish fry and oyster stew supper with all the trimmings 4-7 p.m. Cost is $10 for ages 11 and up, $5 for ages 6-10 and free for ages 5 and under. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund project. For more information, call (704) 735-2443.

Irish Night
The Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Council #10389, of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver will host an Irish Night at the church starting 6 p.m. There will be food, Irish dancers, music, and beer. Dancers will perform 8-8:30 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. Senior dance
The Widowed Group of the Greater Gaston Area will host a senior dance 7-10 p.m. at the Gaston County Resource Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Cost is $8. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Crimson Rose will provide music from the 1950s-60s.

Church concert
The Grigg Family will be in concert 7 p.m. at Buffalo Shoals Baptist Church, 1744 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton.

Church luncheon
McKendree UMC, 3537 Maiden Hwy. in Lincolnton, will host a country-fried steak and baked chicken luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Take-out and dine-in options will be available. For more information, call (704) 735-4062. Donations will be accepted for missions and other church projects.

Church concert

St. Patrick’s Day party

SGA appreciationGaston College will host a meet and greet for transfer students 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along with an SGA Appreciation Day at 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton.
