Mortimer Flohr, age 89, of 1916 Old Farm Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
Services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Flohr was born June 10, 1924, in New York City, N.Y. to the late Bernard and Rose Flohr. He served in the United States Army during World War II and then later worked in computer and telecommunications sales.
He is survived by three sons, Tom Flohr and wife Betty of the home, Dan Flohr and wife Tina of Atlanta, Ga., and Bill Flohr of Santa Monica, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Carter of Barcelona, Spain, Rachel Flohr of Mt. Holly, Jordan Gavitt and husband Kyle of Wilmington, Taylor Flohr of San Francisco, Calif., Alexandra “Alex” Flohr of Atlanta, Ga., Gabriel “Gabe” Flohr of Santa Monica, Calif., Shelley Wilkes of Lincolnton, and Jenna Flohr of Atlanta, Ga.; and one great-grandson, William Gavitt of Wilmington.

Heinz Lumpe, 67, of Iron Station, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. He was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Kempten, Allgau.
He was a service technician in the textile industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theobald Lumpe and Juliane Schmid Lumpe.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Connie Price Lumpe of the home; brothers, Peter Lumpe and Ulrich Lumpe, both of Germany; nieces, Barbara Lumpe, Alexandra Lumpe and Claudia Lumpe, all of Germany; brothers-in-law, Jerry and wife Tammy Price and Dean and wife Lisa Allman, all of Marion; sister-in-law, Patricia and husabnd Joe Hicks of Marion; and many friends and people who loved him.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory. Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Shirlene White.

VALE — Zakie Wade Warlick, current Mayor of Cat Square, age 70, of Vale, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Locke and Rev. Robert Sain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Zakie was born September 10, 1943, in Lincoln County to the late Charles Millard and Inez Nettles Warlick. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, LaDell Rhoney, Sallie Glenn, and Madge Heavner. He worked as a lumber grader.
He is survived by four sisters, Catherine Waters and husband Basil and Jo Hood and husband Dean, all of Vale, Martha George and husband Donald of Newton, and Faye Lockman and husband Jim of Lincolnton; one brother, Ralph D. Warlick and wife Colleen of Hickory; two brothers-in-law, Albert Rhoney of Vale and Bob Heavner of Lincolnton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
