Lincoln County Democrat Elaine N. Harmon announced her candidacy Friday for the position of Clerk of Superior Court for Lincoln County.
After graduating from Lincolnton High School in 1965, she attended Gaston College and UNC-Charlotte. Throughout her career, Harmon has had several opportunities to advance in the political realm. In 1990, she was elected as the Register of Deeds for Lincoln County and served for 20 years. Prior to her position with the county, Harmon worked for 22 years as a legal secretary and real estate paralegal and communicated and filed documents with the office of Clerk of Court on a regular basis. In free time, Harmon serves as a member of the Lincoln County Democratic Women and the Lincoln County Democratic Party.
“My entire employment career has been directly related to the functions of the Clerk of Court,” Harmon said in a press release. “I consider myself a public servant, and above all, enjoy serving the public and assisting those in need. I look forward to serving the citizens of Lincoln County as Clerk of Superior Court.”
