MONDAY
College orientation
Gaston College will host a four-day Basic Skills New Student Orientation class 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5:30-8:30 p.m. daily through Feb. 27 in room 118 of the Lincoln campus, 511 S. Building and Site Committee 
The Lincoln County Board of Education will hold a special called Building and Site Committee meeting 3 p.m. at the Board of Education administrative offices, 353 N. Generals Blvd. in Lincolnton, to review the request for qualifications from design-build firms for the new Asbury School and East Lincoln High School Field House renovation.

Curriculum fair 
West Lincoln High School, Shoal Rd. in Vale, will host its 2014 Curriculum Fair and ACT Information Session 6-7:30 p.m. The fair will be in the old gym; the ACT session will be in the media center. Heart healthy event

Photography Club
The Lincoln Photography Club will meet 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center. The group will review buttons and settings on a DSLR camera. Visitors are welcome.

S.A.F.E. Seminar

The Lincoln County NAACP will meet 6:30 p.m. at the Cultural Center in Lincolnton to discuss and plan upcoming group events.

THURSDAY
Career Expo
Lincoln County Advanced Manufacturing partners and Lincoln County Schools will host “The Career Expo: Manufacturing a Future That Works” for 700 middle and high school career and technical education students 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Aptar Food & Beverage facility inside Lincoln County’s Industrial Park in Lincolnton. The expo will highlight careers and educational opportunities and promote future employers. LKN Covekeepers
Lake Norman Covekeepers will meet 7 p.m. at the East Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, 406 S. Pilot Knob Rd. in Stanley.
