Lincolnton Democrat files for commissioner

Staff report

The competition continues to grow in the Lincoln County Commissioner race. Lincolnton resident and Democrat Adam S. Long filed Wednesday for one of two seats on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. Long is the first Democrat to file for election in the county this year.

After graduating from Lincolnton High School, Long decided to continue his education by studying broadcasting at Gaston College. Long is employed with Timken, in addition to work as a film critic for Focus, a weekly print and online newspaper based in Hickory.

Long is the third person to file for the County Commissioner race. Republican candidates Martin Oakes and former Chief Deputy Sheriff Bill Beam filed earlier this month.
