MONDAY
Board of Health 
The Lincoln County Board of Health will meet 5:30 p.m. at the Health Department, 151 Sigmon Rd. in Lincolnton. The meeting was rescheduled from Feb. 11. For more information, call (704) 735-3001.

Heart Month program                                                                                                                           
CMC-Lincoln will celebrate Heart Month 6 p.m. at Sally’s YMCA, Forney Creek Pkwy. in Denver, with the program “Sometime You Feel Like a Nut: What Type of Nuts is Most Heart Healthy?” Gwen McBee, RN, will present the topic. Post-Polio Support Group                                                                                                                          
The Cleveland County Post-Polio Support Group, serving Cleveland, Lincoln and surrounding counties, will meet 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Life Enrichment Center of Shelby. Attendants should bring his/her own meal. For more information, call Janet Walker at (704) 692-6249.

TUESDAY
Mentoring Moms
Mentoring Moms Community Outreach will be starting a new mentoring session for single moms ages 18-40. To register or obtain more information, call Gwen Cobb at (704) 477-8360.

Nutrition meeting                                                                                                                                      
The Lincoln County Senior Center will host a nutrition meeting 10-11 a.m. at the East Lincoln Community Center in Denver. Healthy@Home will present a program on congestive heart failure and COPD. For more information, call (704) 736-8811 or (704) 732-9053.

Kindergarten registration                                                                                                                 
Registration for Lincoln County Schools grades kindergarten and 1st will start today. Parents must register a child at the school he/she will be attending during the 2013-14 school year. For more information, call (704) 732-2261 or email gwalker@lincoln.k12.nc.us.

McDonalds Night                                                                                                                             
Pumpkin Center Primary School will host McDonalds Night 5-8 p.m. at the location in Boger City. Funds raised will be used to purchase technology and new school supplies for classrooms. Each child will receive a free tasty surprise. Grimace will also be on-hand for the event.

Lions Club
The Lincolnton Lions Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Elm Classroom at CMC-Lincoln’s Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton. Members and guests planning to eat in the hospital cafeteria should arrive 30 minutes early and are encouraged to bring canned food items, grits, cooking oil, laundry detergent and other supplies for Christian Ministry of Lincolnton.

WEDNESDAY
LAHRA meeting     
The Lincolnton Area Human Resources Association (LAHRA) will meet 11:45 a.m. at Homesteads Grill & Taphouse in Lincolnton. The Humane Society of Lincoln County will host registration for a low-cost spay/neuter clinic 1-4 p.m. at 2422 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton. The clinic will be March 4. THURSDAY
Special Olympics     
Special Olympics of Lincoln County will host its annual bowling competition with opening ceremonies starting 9:30 a.m. at Pin Station in Newton. For more information, call Jeff Leonhardt at (704) 736-1017 ext. 32919.

Lincoln Quilters
The Lincoln Quilters will meet 7 p.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton to discuss how to make a valentine heart collage. Visitors are welcome.
