Mrs. Betty Treadway Hunter
Mrs. Betty Treadway Hunter, 78, of Denver died Thursday, February 13, 2014.
Born September 26, 1935 in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Ruby Davis Treadway. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeter Henderson Hunter and brother, James Alvin Treadway.
She is survived by her son, Bill Hunter and wife Devi of Mt. Holly; daughters, Susie Sherrill and husband Bill of Denver, Ruby Chambers and husband Rick of Locust, Cathy Earp and husband Billy of Monroe; ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends February 17, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the East Lincoln Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 73 in Iron Station. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Edward Reese officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Frances Adelaide Myers Jones
HIGH POINT — Frances Adelaide Myers Jones, age 94, of River Landing, died February 9, 2014 in High Point. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Christ Presbyterian Church in High Point. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 2 p.m. before the service at the church.
Mrs. Jones was born February 12, 1919 in High Point, the daughter of the late Charlie Myers and Mae Blackwell Myers. She was always a caring person, and enjoyed doing things for other people. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John Cary Jones; brother, Carl Myers and sister, Hazel Clark.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Glenn Wayne Jones and wife Betty of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Dr. Kevin Jones and wife Amy of Denver and Leslie Jones Pressley and husband Steve of Lincolnton; four great grandchildren, Andrew and Lindsey Jones of Denver, and Meghan and Brett Pressley of Lincolnton; sisters, Margaret Stroud of High Point and Edith Shipwash of Myrtle Beach, S.C., sister-in-law, Margaret Sampson of Silver Spring, MD; brother –in-law, Lonnie Jones of High Point; three nieces; one nephew; two great nieces and one great nephew.

Robbie Sharkey McRae
Robbie Sharkey McRae, 85, of Richfield, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at CMC-Lincoln, Lincolnton.
Robbie was born August 1, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Orville Edward Sharkey and the late Wilma Anderson Sharkey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry McEachin McRae and daughter, Angela McRae.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Old Albemarle Cemetery on Pee Dee Avenue, Albemarle.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Robinson and husband, Mark of Lincolnton; sons, Eddie McRae of Richfield and Andy McRae and wife, Sandy of York, S.C.; granddaughter, April Robinson; and grandson, Mitchell Robinson and wife, Mari, and great granddaughter, Briley.

Walter Alexander McNeely
Walter Alexander McNeely, age 81, of Hull Rd died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born on October 23, 1932 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Bryson and Maggie Justice McNeely. He was a member of North Brook Baptist Church and Pine Grove Golf Course. Walt enjoyed gardening, shooting pool, playing golf, bowling, and fishing. He was retired from Doran Textile and Ester Mill in Shelby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Alma Elizabeth Houser McNeely; son, Larry McNeely (Nancy) of Lincolnton; daughters, Linda Ledford (Tommy), Jane Homesley (Amos P. III), and Wanda Black (Mike) all of Cherryville; sister, Mary Sutton (George) of Cherryville; grandchildren, Tracy Ledford (LaDonna) of Vale, Brandy Ledford of Cherryville, and Nikki Zammarelli (Ed) of Cherryville; step-grandchild, Dale Ledford (Jamey) of Cherryville; great-grandchildren, Morgan Silver, Chase Silver, Gracie Ledford, Olivia Ledford, and Zoie Costner; and step-great-grandchild, Dale Ledford Jr.
Funeral services will be held February 16, 2014 at 4 p.m. at North Brook Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Pennell and Rev. Bob Wise officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
