Children’s artwork display
A Place to Grow in Lincolnton will display artwork from children involved in the organization’s program during a special gallery exhibit through Feb. 28 in the Carolina Mills and Cochrane Galleries at the Cultural Center. An opening reception will be at 9:30 a.m. including a silent auction for students’ collaborative paintings. BPW meeting
Lincolnton Police Captain Cynthia Monday will speak at the Business Professional Women’s meeting 12 p.m. at Homesteads Grille & Taphouse, N. Generals Blvd. in Lincolnton. In honor of Black History Month, Monday will discuss her role as the first African-American female captain for the department.

Senior meeting
Iron Station senior citizens will meet 12 p.m. at Ironton Presbyterian Church.

Senior Valentine party  
Gaston County Parks & Recreation and Senior Center will host a Senior Adult Valentine’s Party 2-4 p.m. for ages 55 and up at 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Tree seedling sale    
The Lincoln County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold its annual tree seedling sale 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a number of available seedlings including dogwood, crape myrtle, pecan redbud and more. The sale will continue until all items are gone. For more informationm, call (704) 736-8501.

Food giveaway
Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a Bread of Life Food Giveaway for local families that already qualify for food stamps or Christian Ministry assistance. Individuals may line up in the parking lot beginning 7 a.m. Each family will receive a 50-pound food box.

Pageant 
The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association will host the Miss Valentine Queen Pageant 11 a.m. for ages 0-19 at the Cherryville Community Building, 106 South Jacob Street. Girls from Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln and surrounding are eligible to partipicate. Proceeds benefit the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Fund. The Knights of Columbus will host a Valentine’s dinner and dance at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 537 N. N.C. 16 in Denver.
