TODAY
Nutrition meeting  
Lincoln County Senior Services, 514 S. Academy St. on the Gaston College-Lincoln campus in Lincolnton, will host a nutrition meeting 10-11 a.m. in the multi-purpose room 10-11 a.m. Healthy at Home will present a program on heart health. For more information, call (704) 732-9053 or (704) 736-8811.

Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 4-7 p.m. at the Denver Fire Department, 3956 N. N.C. 16 in Denver. To schedule an appointment, call (704) 972-4700 or visit carolinadonor.org.

Revival
Bess Chapel UMC, 6073 Flay Rd. in Cherryville, will host the second day of its four-day revival at 7 p.m. Activities will be the same time each night through Wednesday. For a complete schedule call (704) 435-7969.

Board of Commissioners

TUESDAY
Gourmet cooking workshop
The Cooperative Extension will host the workshop “Basics of Gourmet Cooking” 5:30 p.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Melinda Houser will discuss ways to cook smart, eat smart and move more. Additional classes will be Feb. 25, March 4 and 25. Cost is $30 and must be paid prior to attending. For more information or to register, call (704) 736-8461.

Board of Education
The Lincoln County Board of Education will meet 6 p.m. at the LCS administrative offices on N. Generals Blvd.

Lion’s Club
The Lincolnton Lion’s Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Elm Classroom at CMC-Lincoln’s Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton. Past District Governor Randy Champion, from the Black Mountain Lion’s Club, will discuss his club’s successful fundraising project. Members and guests planning to eat in the hospital cafeteria should arrive 30 minutes before the meeting. A Board of Directors meeting will follow.

WEDNESDAY
Extension’s 100th Anniv.  
The Cooperative Extension will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with a kick-off event. Breakfast will be 7:30 a.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Cost is $10. Fausto Coffee will host a coffee and book event at 9 a.m. followed by a free workshop with Bryce Lane at 10 a.m. To register, call (704) 736-8452. Tickets are available at the Coop. Ext. office.

Quilt Guild
