Bobbie Clark Grigg
VALE — Mrs. Bobbie Clark Grigg, age 82, of 1315 Hulls Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. today prior to the service at the church.
Bobbie was born August 22, 1931 in Greer, S.C. to the late Edna Hepler. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Allen Grigg. She worked in textiles.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Earl Grigg of the home; daughters, Brenda Bailey and husband Ron of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gail Bright and husband Jimmy of Lincolnton, and Debbie Willis and husband Larry of Vale; a sister, Ruby Tipton of Maryville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Amie Bailey, Ryan Fore, Aaron Bright, and Miranda Willis; and nine great-grandchildren.

George H. Reese
George H. Reese, 69, of Iron Station, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 with his dear dog, Harley, by his side.
He was born the 30th of September 1944 in Charlotte, a son of the late Adrian Reese and Virginia Byrd Reese. George served in The United States Army in Vietnam and had just retired from Godley Auction Co. after 25 years of service. He was a big race fan and dirt track fan.
The family will greet friends 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Ellington Funeral Service. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 3 p.m. in The Historic Morehead St. Chapel at the funeral home.
Mr. Reese is survived by his sister, Linda Whitesides; nephew, Roger Whitesides and wife, Stefanie; niece, Donna Shoemaker and husband, Vern; sister-in-law, Sylvia Reese; aunt, Margaret Norris; step-daughter, Ashely Ward. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: James “Buck” Reese and Jerry Reese.
The family would like to thank his best friend, Eddie Norton and his neighbor, Butch Baloc for helping to watch over George and all they done for him, also to Godley Auction Co. for being so nice and understanding through his illness.

James Earl Williams
CHARLOTTE — James Earl Williams, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, February 1, 2014, at McEwen Funeral Service Monroe Chapel, 204 South Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112 with interment to follow in Godwin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
James was born June 13, 1930, in Union County to the late William and Anne Williams. He served four years in the Army and was stationed at VA Beach. In 1965, he married Jeanette B. Williams in York, S.C. He was a member of Cornerstone Family Worship where he was an elder, greeter and an usher, a member of the Moose Lodge and Jones Hunting Club.
James retired from Davey Tree Co. after 40 years of service where he was the first ever Safety Manager and an advisor on the Presidents Council.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, James Harold “Jimmy” Williams; brothers, David Williams, CW Williams, Harold Williams and his sister, Margie Young.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette B. Williams of Charlotte; daughter, Leah W. Lowery and husband Tony of Charlotte; son, Joseph Eric Williams and wife Dina of Iron Station; brother, Bobby Williams of Holden Beach; grandchildren, Ericka Williams, Joey Williams and wife Courtney, Matthew James Williams, Levi James Williams, Bradley Williams, Johnathan Phifer, Dillon Lowery and Logan Lowery and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service are, Joey Williams, Mike Smith, Michael Marler, Dale Newcombe, Bill McClure and Max McClure “Short.”
