Deputies remain on the hunt for two people accused of breaking into a western Lincoln County convenience store on Saturday and stealing cash, knives, cigarettes and other grocery items, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident took place around 4 a.m. at the Triple B One Stop on N.C. 274 in Vale.

One suspect, seen on store surveillance to be a white man with brown hair wearing a partial ski mask, coveralls and dark-colored gloves and boots, accessed the business by way of a small window, an agency press release said.

Surveillance footage also showed a second person, believed to be either a white male or female, waiting near the window outside the facility, deputies said.

The suspects worked together to steal $1,500 in cash, pocket knives, cigarettes, rolling paper, lighters, tobacco pipes and additional items, according to the release.

The person inside the store took the money from the cash register and moved from aisle-to-aisle during the incident, grabbing merchandise and using the window to pass it to his counterpart, deputies said.

The suspect outside the business often had portions of the face showing and wore thick glasses and a jacket, the release said.

Anyone with information on the break-in or suspects is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050, the Lincoln County Communications Center at (704) 735-8202 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909.

Any tip leading to an arrest may receive a reward of up to $1,000. Tips may remain anonymous.
