Humane Society of Lincoln County will host registration 1-4 p.m. at 2422 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton for a low-cost spay/neuter clinic Feb. 4. Payment in the form of cash or check is due at registration. For more information, email hslcsspayneuter@gmail.com.

Pie Day
The N.C. Cooperative Extension (Lincoln County unit) will celebrate National Pie Day 12 p.m. at the Citizens Center with more than 30 different pie samples. Sampling is free. Recipe books will available for $3. For more information, call Melinda Houser at (704) 736-8461.

Senior event

Yard sale 
Asbury UMC, 3097 Asbury Ch. Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a yard sale 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Proceeds will benefit an upcoming Honduras mission trip. Items for sale will be toys, seasonal decor, clothing, housewares and more.

The Lincoln County Concert Association will host Grammy award-winning artist David Holt and his band the Lightning Bolts in concert 7:30 p.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. The show will incorporate humor, stories and music with a folk/bluegrass style. Cost is $20 for seniors and adults and $5 for children 18 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Gaston College will hold a four-day Basic Skills New Student Orientation class 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 118 of the Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Additional classes will be 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 27-30. Classes are for students interested in obtaining a GED or Adult High School diploma.
