West Lincoln Middle School’s girls basketball team won the Buck Dellinger Memorial Tournament on Saturday for the first time in seven years.
The Chiefs defeated Lincolnton Middle 35-13 in the opening round on Friday behind 18 points from Jessi Adams and nine points from Kinsley Gilmore. They won the title by defeating East Lincoln Middle 34-23. Addie May scored 13 points and Gilmore had nine points for the second game in as many days. Hope Ramsey and May dominated the offensive and defensive boards in the championship win.
West Lincoln Middle will play Lincolnton Middle on Thursday.
