ECA Celebrates National Pie Day
National Pie Day will be celebrated by members of the Extension and Community Association (ECA) on Thursday, Jan. 23 beginning at noon at the James Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton. ECA members bake more than 30 different pies each year and offer taste samplings to the public. There is no charge for pie sampling, but a recipe booklet with all the recipes included from the tasting will be available for $3.

Basics of Gourmet Cooking
Extension agent Melinda Houser will be teaching four sessions of learning to Cook Smart, Eat Smart, and Move More Gourmet Style! on Feb. 4 and 25 and March 4 and 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the James Warren Citizens Center. The cost for all four sessions is $30 and must be paid prior to the start of the class.

Senior citizen’s valentine event
Cooperative Extension’s Senior Citizens Council has planned an entertaining and educational program and luncheon on Feb. 14. If you would like to attend, please bring a covered dish for the luncheon. Beverage, meat, bread and utensils will be provided. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program begins at 10 a.m. in the James Warren Citizens Center, 115 West Main Street, Lincolnton.
