LCS girls win SP1A swim title

Lincoln Charter’s girls swim team won the Southern Piedmont 1A Conference championships at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics Center on Saturday.
The Eagles scored 139 points and won seven of 11 events, including all three relays. Lincoln Charter’s Christina Lappin was named the conference’s co-MVP along with Alyssa Marsh of Pine Lake Prep, which finished second with 110 points.
Lappin was a member of the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay teams, and she also won the 100- and 200-yard freestyle individual races.
Lincoln Charter’s boys scored 144 and finished second to Pine Lake Prep (157). Lincoln Charter’s Mitchell Harwood was named the boys MVP. He was a member of the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams, and won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly.
