Deputies uncovered at least four ounces of heroin during a traffic stop Friday afternoon east of Lincolnton.
Both Camden Michael Nolen, 30, of the 6000 block of Nolen Acres in Lincolnton and Jordan Ray Vanzandt, 21, of 5693 Nora Drive in Iron Station, were arrested in the incident, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Narcotics investigators searched the suspects’ vehicle and located between four and 14 ounces of the drug, according to an agency press release.
Nolen was placed in the county jail under a $30,000 secured bond for two felony counts of trafficking heroin. Vanzandt was jailed for one count of the same charge.
Vandanzt, convicted of drug-related charges in the county in June, public records revealed, is being held under a $15,000 secured bond.
Nolen, too, maintains a felony record in the county for drug possession and obtaining property by false pretenses, an offense that sent him to prison for at least 10 months, the North Carolina Department of Correction website showed.
Both men remain behind bars with a first appearance in Friday’s case set for today.
