“Miss Merry Christmas Pageant”

Eight girls received titles and crowns during the “Miss Merry Christmas Pageant” Dec. 5 in Cherryville. The pageant was sponsored by the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce and Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association.
Winners included “Bitsy Miss” Anistyn Reel, “Baby Doll Miss” Addy Morehead, “Miniature Miss” Nessa Romney, “Tiny Miss” Scarlett Rostmeyer, “Little Miss” Jordan Abernathy, “Young Miss” Brooke Silver and “Teen Miss” Sara Lynn Currin.  Lauryn Caldwell was the “Majestic Miss” overall winner. Caldwell also took home the photogenic award. Each winner participated in the community tree lighting ceremony after the pageant at downtown Cherryville’s mini-park gazebo.
Runners-up and “Princess Award” winners included Braelyn Freeman, Courtney Silver, Brylee Ghantt, Cheyenne Warlick, Abigail Haskett, Alyssa Hallman and Makayla McMinn.
The signatures award winners included Anistyn Reel, Addy Morehead, Nessa Romney, Scarlett Rostmeyer, Cheyenne Warlick, Alyssa Hallman, Jordan Abernathy, Lauryn Caldwell and Sara Lynn Currin.  Braelyn Freeman was the overall “Signatures Award” winner. Scarlett Rostmeyer received the “First Application” award.
The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association sponsored the pageant for girls 0-19 years. Proceeds benefit the group’s scholarship fund. For more information, visit missgastoniapageant.com.
