Deputies are still on the hunt for an armed robber who took money from a Lincoln County restaurant on Sunday.
Based on video surveillance, officers said a 5-foot-10 black male with a slender build and dressed in all black clothing entered the Cookout restaurant on N.C. 73 in Stanley around 7 a.m. by using a handgun to shoot out the front door glass.
The alleged robber then demanded money from the store manager, the Sheriff’s Office said.
After the employee opened the store safe for the man, the suspect fled the property in what deputies now believe was not a Honda — information they initially shared in a press release Sunday evening — but a 2012 or 2014 four-door Toyota Camry, model LE or XLE.
Anyone with information about the incident or possible suspect is asked the call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050, the Lincoln County Communications Center at (704) 735-8202 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909.
