Deputies seized a machete and a bottle full of drugs during a vehicle stop last week on N.C. 150, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers approached the suspicious-looking vehicle Friday while it was parked outside Country Corner, northeast of Lincolnton.
The driver, Dustin Edwards Williams, of 4878 North N.C. 16 in Denver, is accused of harboring marijuana and weapons inside his vehicle, deputies said.
Officers conducted a search and located a drink bottle stuffed to the top with the illegal substance and a bag of it in the passenger seat pocket, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies said they also seized a machete and multiple other knives on the back floor board as well as more than $300 in cash, a cell phone and drug paraphernalia.
The 26-year-old suspect was charged with one felony count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for a controlled substance.
Deputies filed an additional misdemeanor charge against him for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Williams has since posted a $10,000 secured bond.
