THURSDAY
Maiden Christmas event
The Town of Maiden will host its “Merry Maiden Downtown Christmas Celebration” 5:30-8 p.m. at the Gazebo, located at the intersection of Main St. and Main Ave. In the event of rain, the celebration will be 4-7 p.m. Dec. 22.

Fish fry
Bibleway Church #9, Horseshoe Lake Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a fish fry 4-7 p.m.

Blue Christmas service
Trinity Lutheran Church, 2700 Trinity Ch. Rd. in Vale, will host its fourth annual Blue Christmas worship service, co-sponsored by Sardis, Cedar Grove and Emmanuel Lutheran Churches, at 7 p.m. The program is for individuals who are feeling lonely or sad this season due to the loss of a loved one or other hardship. FRIDAY
Blood drive
Pisgah UMC, 2582 Gastonia Hwy. in Gastonia, will host a blood drive, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, 2:30-7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. To setup an appointment (not required) call (704) 735-4515.

Kids’ Pajama Night

Senior Christmas event

Poetry Lincolnton
Poetry Lincolnton will host poetic couple Adrian and Molly Rice 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center. Both are accomplished published poets, and Adrian is a native of Northern Ireland. Open mic will follow the event. For more information, call (704) 732-9055.

Step / drumline showcase
Highland School of Techology, 1600 N. Marietta St. in Gastonia, will host the YMCA’s 2013 Holiday Step Show and Drum Line Showcase featuring the Gashouse Steppers and Marching Titans Drumline. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $7. Teams from NC and SC will compete for Best Overall, Best Stroll and Best Spirited.

SATURDAY
Christmas play

Festival of Trees

SUNDAY
Christmas worship

Christmas concert
The LeBeau Family will perform a Christmas concert 11 a.m. at Maiden Wesleyan Church, 1125 Ivey Church Rd. in Maiden. A love offering will be collected.

MONDAY
Church handout
Middle Cross Baptist Church, 3474 Crouse Sch. Rd. in Crouse, will host the event “Hope for Christmas” 6-8 p.m. Each family who attends will receive a free boxed meal and a new toy for children ages 0-17.
