The brackets for the East Lincoln Winter Jam and the Peoples Bank Holiday Clash have been set.
East Lincoln’s 24th annual boys and girls Christmas basketball tournaments and the annual People’s Bank Holiday Clash –– held at West Lincoln this year –– will begin on Dec. 27.
Participating in the Peoples Bank Holiday Clash will be boys and girls team from Bandys, Lincolnton, North Lincoln and West Lincoln. Boys teams participating in the East Lincoln Winter Jam are East Lincoln, Huntersville Hopewell, Charlotte Mallard Creek, Charlotte Garinger, Lake Norman Charter, Mooresville, East Gaston, and York (S.C.). Girls teams playing are Hopewell, East Lincoln, North Mecklenburg, Harrisburg Hickory Ridge, Mallard Creek, Central Cabarrus, Lake Norman Charter and Mooresville.
Teams participating in the East Lincoln Winter Jam were seeded on Saturday. East Lincoln drew the top overall seed in the boys portion, while Hopewell received the top seed in the girls bracket. East Lincoln’s girls were seeded eighth.

CHERRYVILLE 80, WEST LINCOLN 49: At Cherryville, Rhyer Davis had a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists Friday to lead four in double figures as the Ironmen stayed perfect on the year.
Kenny Posted scored 15 points, D.J. Cunningham added 11 points and Yung Sherrill scored 10 points for Cherryville (6-0).
Dylan Frady led West Lincoln (0-8) with 20 points.
WEST LINCOLN 41, CHERRYVILLE 29: At Cherryville, the Rebels held the Lady Ironmen to eight points in the first and third quarters combined in the non-conference win.
Erin Huff led West Lincoln (4-4) with 12 points, and Ashton Pena added 10. Molly Whitworth led Cherryville with a game-high 16 points.
The game was delayed roughly 45 minutes due to a power outage, Rebels coach Holly Specht said. West Lincoln hosts Lincolnton to open Southern District 7 Athletic 2A Conference play on Friday.
