Joyce Ann Hester Lingerfelt
Joyce Ann Hester Lingerfelt, age 70, of 2142 Oklahoma Court in Lincolnton died Wednesday, December, 11, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lingerfelt was born November 27, 1943 in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Evan Wilson Hester and Beulah Mae Hendricks Hester. She was also preceded in death by her son Todd Cook and daughter Robin Cox. She worked at Temp Vent.
Survivors include, husband, Paul D. Lingerfelt; daughter, Sherry Cook Moore of Iron Station; two step-sons, Paul Lingerfelt of Denver and David Lingerfelt of Durham; two sisters, Dorothy Sue Whisnant of Hickory and Ella Mae Bingham of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two step great grandsons.

John Thomas McLean III
John Thomas McLean III, age 83, of 500 Victor Street in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, December 12, 2013.
Services will be private.
Mr. McLean was born October 20, 1930 in Lincoln County to the late John Thomas McLean, Jr. and Georgia Heavner McLean. He served in the United States Navy and then later worked as a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lineberger McLean of Lincolnton; son, John “Chuck” McLean, IV of Denver; three grandchildren, Julian, Jaden, and Cameron McLean; and a sister, Janice Hinman of N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 20892.

DENVER — Mr. Harley Pressley, age 67, of 7338 Forney Hill Road in Denver, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Denver Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Pressley was born April 22, 1946 in Transylvania County to the late Herbert and Ethel Mae West Pressley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hovis Pressley.
He is survived by three sons, Randy Pressley, Robin Pressley, and Ronnie Pressley, all of Lincolnton; one daughter, Tammy Pressley of Lincolnton; three brothers, Charles Pressley of Denver, Rufus Pressley of Lincolnton, and Cecil Pressley of Ga.; two sisters, Ruth McCall of Brevard, and Elvie Pressley of S.C.; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Curtis Vernon Ramsey
Mr. Curtis Vernon Ramsey, age 67, of 2193 Oklahoma Court in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Massapoag Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. today prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Ramsey was born June 20, 1946, in Oakland, Calif. to the late John and Doris Willis Cooper Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Ramsey. He was a chef.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Ramsey of the home; two sons, John Ramsey of the home and Mark Hoosier of Hampton, Va.; daughter, Laura Wallace of Hampton, Va.; sister, Judith Smith of San Bernardino, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bobby Lee Smith, 40, of Lincolnton died at his residence Monday, December 9, 2013. Born December 11, 1972, he was the son of Lee Thornberg and Linda Kay Smith.
In addition to his mother Linda; two sons, Chance and Bryan Smith of the home; one daughter, Kayla Smith of the home; two sisters, Robin Smith and husband Dennis of Lincolnton, Jean Lail of Lincolnton; grandmother, Edith Smith of Lincolnton; a former wife, Rebekah Smith of Lincolnton and several aunts and uncles survive him.
In addition to his father, Lee Thornberg; a special grandfather, Charlie Smith precedes him in death.
The funeral will be 5 p.m. today at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Disher officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 4:50 p.m. today in the chapel.
