A pair of Lincoln Charter School athletes recently signed their national letters of intent to play their respective sport at the next level, the school announced in a press release.
Josie Weber signed to play softball at Limestone College, and Christina Famulari has signed to play volleyball at Bluefield College in Virginia.
Weber, a pitcher, has been a starter for the Eagles the past two seasons. She was named a Piedmont Charter Athletic Conference all-star in 2012 and 2013, and was recognized as an all-state softball team member by the North Carolina Softball Coaches Association.
Weber transferred to Lincoln Charter as a sophomore, and has a 17-0 record in the pitching circle with a 0.96 ERA with 120 strikeouts. She’s also a career .396 hitter for the Eagles.
She is a two year starter and was elected first-team all-conference for 2012 and 2013. She was also a first team All-District member last season and named to the all-state team.
Weber is a member of the National Beta/Honors Club and sports a 4.3 GPA.
Famulari’s signing makes her the first to sign to play volleyball collegiately from Lincoln Charter, the school said.
Famulari was a PCAC all-star in 2012. She had 121 kills, 48 blocks and 38 aces in her senior season.
