Walter Charles Mull
CHERRYVILLE — Walter Charles Mull, 52 of Cherryville died December 4, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cleveland Co. on May 8, 1961 a son of Walter and Katherine Mull of Waco. Charles was employed at Riddley Cabinet Co. as a custom cabinet maker and was an avid outdoorsman and truly enjoyed trout fishing.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Mull.
In addition to his parents he is survived by sister Diane Jarrell Haynes (James) of Lincolnton; brother Roger Mull of Cherryville; wife Carolyn Sue Fine Mull of Waco; three step children Ruby Fail (Randy) of Cherryville, Tammy Bridges of Cherryville, Charles Dean Allen Jr. (Crystal) of Kings Mountain; six step grandchildren; one niece and two nephews, Cassie, Brandon and Landen Jarrell, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Robby Hensley and Rev. David Jones officiating with entombment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fallston. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Diane Jarrell-Haynes, 400 Don McGinnis Rd., Lincolnton.

Linda ‘Kaye’ Pearson
Linda “Kaye” Pearson, 65, of Kings Mountain, joined with her husband, Robert Wayne Pearson at the feet of Jesus on December 4, 2013
She was born July 29, 1948 in Gaston County daughter of the late Ervin James Williams and Mary Earney Williams.
Mrs. Pearson was a retired school teacher, who had taught at Webb Street School for over 30 years. It was her life’s passion to inspire Special Needs Children.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Leon Humphrey. The family will receive friends 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
Mrs. Pearson is survived by: sons, Bradly Pearson and wife Sebrena, Timothy Pearson all of Lincolnton; daughter, Tammy Robinson and husband Rick of White Stone, S,C,; brother, Wesley Williams of Tex,; sister, Ester Parrish of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Adam, Wendy, Caryn, Mandi, Bryan, Katrina, David, Abigail, Seth; great grandchildren, Devin, Andrew, Madison, Emmy, Connor, Logan.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, Robert Wayne Pearson; brothers, Jack and Gene Williams; great granddaughter, Courtney Robinson.

CROUSE — Marion Lee Martin Umphress, age 89, of 2495 Farmbrook Lane in Crouse, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Umphress was born April 5, 1924 in Trion, Ga. to the late Quincey Aylor and Pauline Wike Martin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stanley Umphress and a sister, Edna Rector. She worked as a waitress at the Lincoln House for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Howard Stanley Umphress Jr. and wife Brenda Sue of Fayetteville, Ga., Henry McClaine Umphress and David Lee Umphress, both of Lincolnton; four daughters, Beverly Jo Ozburn of Locust Grove, Ga., Brenda Joyce Dolfi and husband Joe of Holden Beach, Barbara Jean Gelb and husband Ernest of Wyoming, Pa., and Bette Jane Scales of Lincolnton; two brothers, John Walter Martin of N.C. and Daniel Martin of Lincolnton; two sisters, Bonnie Kelly of Crouse and Donnie Ann Childress of Mt. Airy; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on December 8, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church, Newton. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends December 8, 2013 from 1:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the church Family Life Center, prior to the service.
