TODAY
Carriage rides
Carriage rides throughout downtown Lincolnton will be 6:30-9:30 p.m. Rides will will continue every Thursday through Saturday night through Dec. 21. Cost is $10 per person and $5 per person for wagon rides.

Theatre Guild play
The Lincoln Theatre Guild, in cooperation with Sherrill, Blake and Harrison CPA, PA, will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” directed by Amber Ellis and Ricky Newton, 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center in Lincolnton. Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees event, sponsored by the Arts Council of Lincoln County, will host a preview party 7-10 p.m. at 200 Gamble Dr. in Lincolnton. Cost is $25. SATURDAY
Craft sale
Crouse UMC, 3311 Crouse Sch. Rd. in Crouse, will host a Christmas craft sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be biscuits, baked goods, hot dogs, door prizes and a variety of local crafters on-hand. Proceeds will benefit church mission projects. For more information, call (704) 735-2443.

Christmas bazaar
Zion Hill Baptist Church, 8173 N.C. 18 in Lawndale, will host a Christmas bazaar 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with breakfast, crafts, quilts, baked and canned good items.

Craft fair 
The PTA at G. E. Massey Elementary School, 130 Newbold St. in Lincolnton, will host a Christmas craft fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gym with a variety of vendors and food items.

“Breakfast with Santa”
The Cultural Center will host “Breakfast with Santa” at 9 a.m. Cost is $10 per child. First Federal Savings Bank is also sponsoring the event. Mrs. Claus and the cast of The Nutcracker will serve breakfast. A maximum of two adults per child may eat for free. Tickets may be purchased at the Cultural Center in Lincolnton.

Medicine drop
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will host a medicine drop 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Adam District Office, 3606 W. N.C. 27 in Lincolnton (at the new Howard’s Creek VFD station). Individuals may remain anonymous and drop off any unused or unwanted liquid or pill medications, syringes, vitamins and more. No aerosol cans will be accepted. Coat giveaway
Lincolnton Church of God, 1435 Riverview Rd. in Lincolnton, will hand out free coats 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, call (704) 732-0012.

Parade nominations/registration 
Nominations for this year’s Little Miss Cat Square and Miss Cat Square may be made 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cat Square Superette. Individuals may also vote among the top three nominations for Cat Square Mayor and register any horses, 4-wheelers or parade floats. The parade will be 2 p.m. Dec. 14 with lineup at 1 p.m.

Book signing
Hickory author J. Paige Straley will autograph and sell limited editions of his children’s book, Jack’s Christmas, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lincolnton Lions Club booth at Woodmill Winery’s Open House. Proceeds from the book will benefit the Lincolnton Lions Club.

Special Olympics bowling
The 2013 Special Olympics North Carolina Western Bowling Tournament will be 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Pin Station Bowling Center in Newton. Overeaters Anonymous
Overeaters Anonymous will meet 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2639 E. N.C. 150 (white building in back) in Lincolnton. For more information, call Robbie at (704) 616-2630. The group meets weekly.

Toy Run
The Capt. Jeb F. Seagle Marine Corps League will host a police-escorted toy run ride throughout Lincolnton, ending at Zippers Restaurant. Registration will be 12 p.m. at Iron Station Thunder. Hot dog lunch
A free hot dog lunch will be 12-2 p.m. at Boger City Wesleyan Church, N.C. 27 East in Lincolnton.

Denver parade 
The Denver Christmas Parade will be 2:30 p.m. The route will be along N.C. 16, N. Pilot Knob Rd. and Triangle Cir. A tree lighting ceremony will follow the event at 5 p.m. at Lake Norman Lutheran Church. For more information, visit elbanc.org.

Christmas auction
Southside Baptist Church, 1725 Southside Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a “Lottie Moon Christmas Auction” at 6 p.m. A bbq meal will precede the event at 5 p.m. For more information, call (704) 735-2418.

Senior bingo

Coalition of Churches
Lincoln County Coalition of Churches will host its annual Christmas dinner 7 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church, 1322 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton. NARFE
