After completing a month-long investigation, Lincoln County officials have determined that allegations of misconduct, mismanagement and misuse of funds leveled against Library Director Jennifer Sackett appear to be unsupported.
Several library employees expressed their concerns to county leadership in late October. According to County Manager Tracy Jackson, employee interviews and questionnaires were conducted prior to Karen Haines with Hickory’s Mark Knuckles and Associates, a human resources management consulting firm, joining the investigation.
Due to the lack of support regarding the allegations made, Jackson stated that there were no grounds for disciplinary action or further investigation.
“This issue has been thoroughly examined by many people, and we are moving beyond what has been a difficult and trying time for all involved,” Jackson said. “The citizens of Lincoln County can be assured that our Public Library will continue to provide high-quality services, information and programs to all.”
