SUNDAY
Play auditions  
The Cherryville Little Theatre,  301 W. Academy St.,  will host auditions 3-5 p.m.  for the upcoming  Southern comedy “Dearly Departed.” Cast will include 5 men and 9 women ages 20s-70s and 3 to 5 teens ages 15-18. Lincolnton parade / tree lighting
The annual Lincolnton  Christmas parade will be 4 p.m.  downtown followed by the official  lighting of the downtown Christmas  tree.  For more information, visit www.ci.lincolnton.nc.us/news.html or call the Downtown Development Association (DDA) at (704) 736-8915.

Denver tree lighting
The Denver community Christmas tree lighting will be 5 p.m. at Lake Norman Lutheran Church, 1445 State Rd. 16 in Denver. Dixie Moon Band will emcee the event. Students from Rock Springs and Catawba Springs Elementary Schools will also perform. The Denver parade will be Dec. 7. For more information, visit the East Lincoln Better Association (ELBA) website.

MONDAY
Bead group
The Lincolnton Bead Group will meet 9:30 a.m. at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton with an instructor from Gaston County, who will help participants design and create a piece of jewelry. Beginners and advanced students may attend. A small fee will be charged by the instructor. The Extension and Community Association is sponsoring the event. Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 4-7 p.m. at the Denver Fire Department, 3956 N. N.C. 16 in Denver. To make an appointment, call (704) 972-4700 or visit carolinadonor.org.

TUESDAY
Fire dept. meeting
North Brook VFD will host its annual meeting for the North Brook community 6 p.m. at the first station, 7050 Doyle Beam Memorial Rd. in Vale.

Lions Club
The Lincolnton Lions Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Elm Classroom at Lincoln Medical Plaza in Lincolnton. Topics of discussion will be the club fundraiser on Dec. 7 at WoodMill Winery and the club Christmas party on Dec. 14.

WEDNESDAY
Quilt Guild
Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Senior Center, located at the Gaston College-Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. For more information, call (704) 483-2778.
