Stew fundraiser

Art event

Singing Convention

“Sister Act” musical
The Backyard Players at Verdict Ridge will present “Sister Act: The Musical” 8 p.m. at the Cultural Center in Lincolnton. Individuals must be 15 to attend. Proceeds will benefit Coalition Against Child Abuse and kids programs at Sally’s YMCA in Denver. Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Church breakfast
Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a country breakfast 7-10 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Cost is $6. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund.

Friends & Family Day
Tucker’s Grove UMC, 5982 Tucker’s Grove Ch. Rd. in Iron Station, will host a Friends & Family Day starting 11 a.m. Lunch will follow the service.

Thanksgiving service
Lincoln County Coalition of Churches will host a pre-Thanksgiving service 6 p.m. at Poplar Springs AME Zion Church, 1205 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton. Rev. Daran Johnson will speak; the Coalition Choir will also perform. Attendants are encouraged to bring canned or dry goods to donate to the Lincolnton food bank. The public is invited to attend.

Gospel concert
Crouse UMC, Pleasant Grove UMC, St. Paul’s Lutheran and Bethphage Lutheran Churches invite the community to a free Thanksgiving Gospel concert with Emmaus Road Quartet (emmausroadquartet.com) from Dalton, Ga., 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s, 2826 W. N.C. 150 in Crouse. Attendants are asked to bring a canned or boxed food item for Christian Ministry in Lincolnton.

Library meeting

Diabetes event
CMC-Lincoln will host another program in recognition of November being National Diabetes Awareness Month with “Keeping on Track with Diabetes” support group meeting 6 p.m. in the Dogwood Room. Liz Diruzzo-ASU dietitic intern will present the progam “Managing Diabetes Through the Holidays.”

Photography Club
The Lincoln Photography Club will meet 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Cultural Center in Lincolnton. Attendants are asked to bring an 8-by-10 favorite fall photo for a contest.

TUESDAY
Senior retreat
Registration is due to attend the Lincoln County Cooperative Extension’s senior citizens retreat Dec. 3 to Camp Dogwood. Cost is $7.
