LCS boys down Christ the King, improve to 2-0

Lincoln Charter’s boys basketball team used a big second half to down Christ the King 59-44 on Friday.
After trailing 24-19 at the break, the Eagles outscored the visitors 40-20 in the second half.
Amir Davis had 18 points for Lincoln Charter. Kevin Walsh added 10 points and Logan Foster scored 10 points. Logan Thayer had a game-high 19 points for Christ the King.
The Eagles (2-0) host Queens Grant today.

SAILVIEW 5K RESULTS: Alex Akers of Maiden and East Lincoln freshman Frances Massey were the top male and female runners at the Sailview 5K race held in Denver on Nov. 9.
Akers, 15, was the overall winner with a finishing time of 18:38.23. Massey, the top female finisher, was fifth overall at 19:39.76. She helped the Mustangs win their first state title in the sport last month.
Female age group winners were: Olivia Humphrey, 14-under, Dallas; Megan Lawing, 20-29, Lincolnton; Angie Cherry, 30-39, Denver; Dawn Risse, 40-49, Denver; Julie Cansler, 50-59, Denver.
Male age group winners were: Cole Ferraro, 14-under, Denver; Hayes Irvin, 15-19, Denver; Jesse Oliver, 20-29, Jonestown; Donald McKenzie, 30-39, Mooresville; Jaime Hurtado, 40-49, Lincolnton; Randy Burrier, 50-59, Floyd; Robert Higgin, 60-69, Denver.
