Wallace Lee Keener
Wallace Lee Keener, age 82, of Lincolnton died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
His funeral service was noon on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham and Rev. Robert Redding officiating. Burial followed in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Wally was born April 10, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Pervy Pinkney and Ollie Mae Williams Keener. He served in the Army National Guard for 42 years and then later retired from law enforcement. He volunteered in many emergency services throughout Lincoln County and was a member of Boger City Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Wentz Keener of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Pinkney Keener of Crossville, Tenn. and Wallace Andrew Keener of Maiden; two grandchildren, Jessica Keener and Lauren Ashlee Keener; and one great-grandchild.

Clyde Ray Milburn, 74, of Lincolnton passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at CMC Lincoln, Lincolnton.
Born March 3, 1939 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Charlie Watson Milburn and the late Lola Mae Putnam Milburn.
In addition to his parents, one son, Chuck Milburn; five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He is survived by wife of 55 years, Jane Carpenter Milburn of the home; one son, Rick Milburn and wife Tracey of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Kelly Mellentine and husband Thad, Josh Milburn, Brittany Milburn, Brent Milburn, and Kacie Cox; one great-grandson, Van Mellentine; two sisters, Geneva Richards of Vale and Ann Carpenter of Crouse.
The funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at South River Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Pastor Ernie Richards and Pastor Larry Chapman officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Maiden.
