Can drive
Crisis Pregnancy Center, 621 Clark Creek Rd. in Lincolnton, is collecting aluminum cans throughout November and December. Individuals are asked to flatten or crush cans and drop them off bagged at the back of the facility. For more information, call (704) 732-3384.

Salem Baptist Church, 1982 Salem Church Rd. in Lincolnton, will host an indoor yard sale fundraiser 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

LEPC meeting

Wildlife gala/auction

Poetry Lincolnton will present guest poet Bud Caywood, a more than 35-year veteran of the art field, 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center. Open mic will follow the event.

Yard sale
St. Dorothy’s Church, N.C. 27 West in Lincolnton, will host an indoor yard sale 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a large variety of items. Proceeds will benefit an upcoming youth mission trip.

BBQ fundraiser

Oyster stew fundraiser
Bethel UMC, 7284 Campground Rd. in Denver, will host an all-you-can-eat oyster stew fundraiser 12-7:30 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Individuals may dine-in or carry-out.

Rabies clinic 
The Humane Society of Lincoln County will host a low-cost drive-thru rabies clinic 1-5 p.m. at the DSS building, 1136 E. Main St. in Lincolnton (behind Walgreens). Shots will be $7 per animal.

Fish fry
Crouse UMC, Old N.C. 150 in Crouse, will host a fish fry and oyster stew supper with all the trimmings 4-7 p.m. Cost is $8 per plate. Proceeds will benefit the building fund project.

Widowed Group
The Widowed Group of the Greater Gaston Area will host Marty Vanderlip and songs from the 1950s & ‘60s at Gaston County Parks & Rec., 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Admission is $8. Food will be available.

Crouse community project
The Crouse Community History and Photo Project group will meet 4 p.m. at Crouse UMC, 3311 Crouse School Rd. in Crouse. Robert C. Carpenter will present the program “The Gaston County 1863 Tax List and Narrative.” The project’s purpose is to collect, identify and preserve photos, documents and other memories of the community. Healthcare enrollment       
Boger City UMC, 2320 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, in partnership with Piedmont Benefits Group, will host a health insurance enrollment day at 6 p.m. Individuals needing 2014 health coverage may enroll in a plan and receive Affordable Care Act information and federal subsidy advice.
