Veterans Day breakfast
American Legion Post 30 will host its annual Veterans Day breakfast 8 a.m. at post headquarters, 1120 N. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Legion members, veterans, National Guard members, active duty and reserves are all invited. Legion will host ceremonies following the 11 a.m. parade on the east side of the courthouse. Veterans event        
The Student Veteran Association and The Student Government Association at Gaston College will host a ceremony to honor veterans from every military 10– 11 a.m. in the lobby of the main building at the Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Veterans Day Parade        
The Downtown Development Association (DDA) will host a Veterans Day Parade 11 a.m. in downtown Lincolnton. Lineup start 9 a.m. on E. Water St. For more information, call (704) 736-8915.

Coalition of Churches
Lincoln County Coalition of Churches will meet 7 p.m. at Oaklawn School in Lincolnton to finalize plans for Martin Luther King Jr., day. The public is invited to attend.

Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gaston College-Lincoln campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. All donors will receive a free T-shirt.

McDonalds night
Pumpkin Center Primary School in Lincolnton will hold its monthly McDonalds fundraiser 5-8 p.m. at the new McDonalds in Boger City. The event will be the second Tuesday of each month through May. Each child will receive a free tasty surprise. All funds raised will be used to purchase new technology and basic school supplies for classrooms.

Jewelry class
The Arts Council of Lincoln County will offer a jewelry class 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cultural Center in Lincolnton with teacher Kathryn Berkowitz. For more information, visit artslincolnnc.org or call (704) 732-9044.

School board 
The Lincoln County Board of Education will meet 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of LCS headquarters on N. Generals Blvd. in Lincolnton.

Veterans school event
G.E. Massey Elementary School, 130 Newbold St. in Lincolnton, will host a Veterans Day celebration 9 a.m. at the flagpole. The Lincolnton High School chorus and elementary students will perform songs, and a number of community veterans will be in attendance.

Iron Station senior citizens will meet 12 p.m. at Ironton Presbyterian Church. For more information, call (704) 735-3242.

Church dinner for CAC
First Presbyterian Church, 114 W. Main St. in Lincolnton, will host dinner at 6 p.m. to support Coalition Against Child Abuse and the Child Advocacy Center. Quilt Guild
Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet for a beginner’s class 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Senior Center, located on the Gaston College-Lincoln campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. For more information, call Linda at (704) 483-2778.

Diabetes event                                                                                                                            
CMC-Lincoln will host Diabetes Awareness Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital lobby. Individuals are encouraged to stop by and learn about risk factors, get a blood sugar check and sample diabetes-friendly desserts. Door prizes will also be available.

Singles ministry  
First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Rd. in Lincolnton, will host GRACE Singles ministry event 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center dining room. Guest speakers will be Pastor Keith Hollar and Skip. Attendants are asked to bring a covered dish item. For more information, call (704) 735-0541.

Sons of Confederate
