Yard sale benefit

Free auto checks

Humane Society event
The Humane Society of Lincoln County will host “We Love Our Pets” shopping event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at 2422 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton. Items such as pet coats, sweaters, bowls, collars and toys will be available by donation only. Hot dogs will also be for sale. All proceeds will benefit spay/neuter.
First Baptist Church High Shoals will host a Bluegrass & BBQ Fall Festival 11 a.m. with “Heartstrings” and “Crimson Red.” Admission and food is free.
Pleasant Grove UMC, 2069 N.C. 182 in Lincolnton, will serve a BBQ dinner (drive-through or dine-in) 4-7 p.m. Cost is $8. Call-ahead orders will be taken after 3 p.m. by calling (704) 735-7511. Proceeds will be used to feed local hungry and help send the minister to the Holy Land.
Bethlehem UMC, 6753 N.C. 182 in Cherryville, will host its annual BBQ fundraiser 4-8 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are free. Dine-in and carry-out options will be available. Proceeds will benefit church missions and the building fund.
