Betty Ruth Whiteside Dameron
Betty Ruth Whiteside Dameron, 85, of Lincolnton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home.
A native of Lincolnton, she was born on December 22, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Edith Cornwell Whiteside.
Betty started out as a homemaker and mother. Later in life, she went back to school to become a nurse. She worked as a licensed nurse caring for Alzheimer’s patients at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, NC. She retired from nursing after 20 years.
She was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Southside Baptist Church in Lincolnton. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. She also enjoyed gardening and baking.
Survivors of Ms. Dameron include her two sisters, Joyce Hoffman of Lincolnton and Lou Alice Brooks of Huntersville; three brothers, Melvin “Bud” Whiteside, Marvin Whiteside and Jake Whiteside all of Lincolnton; three daughters, Cynthia Plyler of Mooresville, Crystal Griffin of Houston, Tex. and Celia Bilfinger and husband Tom of Setauket, N.Y; five grandchildren, Tanya Lam and husband Gordon of Davidson, Tara Stewart and husband Tim of Columbia, S.C., and Christine, Elizabeth and Michael Bilfinger of Setauket, N.Y. and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Logan and Lily Stewart of Columbia, S.C. and Grant and Luke Lam of Davidson, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Linda Mull and Gladys Ward.
The family would like to offer special thanks to her niece Margaret Berryhill and Amber Burgin for all of the time and special love and care that they provided to their aunt during her last years.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Reverends Charles Ingle and Leland Stephens will be officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers and at her request, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1726 Southside Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Jimmy Richard Winebarger
Jimmy Richard Winebarger, 69, of Conover died October 27, 2013.
The funeral service was held on October 29, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church, Conover. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends on October 29, 2013 from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church prior to the service.

Daniel ‘Danny’ Arlie Farris
Daniel “Danny” Arlie Farris, 66, of Conover died October 27th, 2013.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. October 30th, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church, Hildebran. Burial will follow at Victory Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. October 30th, 2013 at the church.
