Pucker up Petunia!

Contributed Principal Audrey Benton vowed she would do just about anything to motivate, encourage and celebrate her students. Except kiss a pig. Friday afternoon the students of Iron Station Elementary learned to never say never. The goal was $10,000. The staff and students have raised more than $400 over their goal. Donations are welcome as all funds will go towards replacing the front playground which is more than 15 years old. The cost of the new play structure is $36,000. PTA Co-President Ginger Bartholomew is actively seeking additional funds through grants such as the one from Times Oil that helped replace the playground behind the school. Help from the community is greatly appreciated. Please make checks payable to Iron Station PTA, 4207 E Hwy 27, Iron Station, NC 28080
