TODAY
Adult health fair
Personal Care of North Carolina will host an adult health fair 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Adult Recreation Center, 519 W. Franklin Blvd. in Gastonia. Admission is free. A variety of vendors will be on hand including Kindred Healthcare in Lincolnton. Cost is $10. Proceeds will benefit the Lincolnton Sunrise Rotary Club’s projects.

Lions Club
The Lincolnton Lions Club will sell raffle tickets 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Ride-A-Bike Bicycle Shop, 116 Court Square in downtown Lincolnton. Proceeds will benefit the club’s Christmas party/luncheon for the blind and summer program for blind children. The club will also be selling an assortment of brooms and mops. The bike drawing will be Nov. 25.

Singing Convention
The Lincoln County Singing Convention will meet 5 p.m. for a dinner on the grounds at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church, 6670 W. N.C. 27 in Vale. Singing will be 7-9 p.m. Everyone is invited. For more information, call (704) 276-1529.

SATURDAY
Church breakfast
Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a country breakfast 7-10 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Cost is $6. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund.

Sidewalk sale
“Amy’s Closet” at Amy’s House, a domestic violence shelter, will host a sidewalk sale 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 751-E N.C. 16 in the West Point Shoppes in Denver. Clothes, shoes, jewelry, household items and more will be available. Biscuits, hot dogs and baked goods will be available for purchase.

Yard sale
Daystar Family Worship Center Church of God, 115 Industrial Park Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a yard sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Handgun class
Lincoln County Board of Realtors will host a concealed-carry handgun training class 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Instructor Terry Burgin at Lincolnton Sportsman Lodge, Horseshore Lake Rd. Cost is $60. The Captain Jeb F. Seagle Marine Corps League Detachment 1265 will conduct a 30th Anniversary Memorial Service for Sgt. Michael D. The Howard Creek Ladies Auxiliary will host a hot dog/bake sale and silent auction 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Howards Creek Fire Department, N.C. 27 West in Lincolnton.

Spooktacular   
The Partnership for Children of Lincoln & Gaston Counties will host “Family Spooktacular” 12-4 p.m. at Woodmill Festival grounds, 1350 Woodmill Winery Ln. in Vale. Activities will include games, trunk-or-treat, a bounce house, fitness trail, hot dogs and more.

Fall festival    
Macedonia Baptist Church, 5286 E. N.C. 150 in Lincolnton, will host a fall festival 3-5 p.m. with games, prizes, inflatables, cotton candy and more.

Church concert       
“Hearts Song Quartet” will perform 6 p.m. at Living Word Ministries, 1062 N.C. 16 in Lowesville. Cost is $10 for teens and up. A free hot dog dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m.  For more information, call (704) 618-9762.

The United Methodist Men of Bess Chapel UMC, 6073 Flay Rd. in Cherryville, will host a Poor Man’s Supper 5-7 p.m. Donations will be accepted.

Octoberfest           
Asbury UMC, 3097 Asbury Ch. Rd. in Lincolnton, will host Octoberfest 5-7 p.m. with hot dogs, a cake walk, bounce house, trunk-or-treat, games and more.

The Cultural Center in Lincolnton will host “Boogers & Bingo” 6 p.m. with costume prizes, bingo, pizza, a “zombie walk” and silent auction.

Halloween dance                                                                                                                      
VFW Post 1706 will host a Halloween dance 8-12 p.m. with beach, top 40 and country music, performed by Randy Davis (aka “The Doctor). Prizes will be awarded for best and original costume. Cost is $10. Must be 21 to enter. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Post Hospital Transportation Fund for Lincoln County veterans.

SUNDAY
Church centennial      
Emmanuel Reformed Church of Lincolnton, 329 E. Main St., will host a centennial celebration 10:30 a.m. in the 1913 church building. Open house will start at 9:30 a.m. A covered dish lunch will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Women’s Day                                                                                                                              
The Women of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their Annual Women’s Day starting 11 a.m. at the church, located on Mt. Vernon Rd. The celebration will include two services with Rev. Alexis Allen, associate minister of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Salisbury. Rev. Renee McClain, pastor of Poplar Springs A.M.E. Zion Church in Lincolnton, will speak at the 2:30 p.m. service.

Church luncheon                                                                                                                  
Boger City UMC, 2320 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will host a community luncheon 11:30 a.m. with a meat and vegetable combination meal. An $8 donation is suggested.

Propst reunion
